District Election Officer Ajay Kumar meets political leaders to discuss election process and low voting percentage

To make the election process more transparent and increase the voting percentage in the district, the District Election Officer held a meeting with the representatives of political parties and sought suggestions

Gurugram, March 20 : Under the chairmanship of District Election Officer Ajay Kumar, a meeting was organized today in the conference hall of the Mini Secretariat to discuss with recognized national and state political parties regarding various points and suggestions related to the Lok Sabha and Assembly elections as per the instructions of the Election Commission of India.

District Election Officer Ajay Kumar said that the names of eligible citizens should not be left out in the voter list and ineligible ones should not be included. For this, it is necessary that all political parties appoint booth level agents at all polling stations as per the instructions of the Election Commission of India. Expecting cooperation from political parties for clean, transparent and fair elections, he said that

By appointing BLAs by political parties, eligible citizens will be able to get help and guidance. For this, political parties will have to fill the information in the prescribed format and make it available to all BLAs. The District Election Officer said that after the deployment of BLAs by the political parties, the work will be done with transparency and accuracy of the voter list during the revision program with BLOs. During this, suggestions were also sought from the political parties on topics like increasing the voting percentage in Gurugram, challenges faced by political parties, improvement in the grievance redressal mechanism, ideas about conducting simultaneous elections, curbing the misuse of money and muscle power, etc.

SDM and ARO Ankit Chokse of Badshahpur, SDM and ARO Sanjeev Kumar of Sohna, SDM and ARO Paramjeet Chahal of Gurugram, CTM Ravindra Kumar, Election Tehsildar Rohit, Netram Bodh, Pratap Singh, Yadaram Joya, Manish Gaur, Pankaj Bhardwaj etc. were present in the meeting on behalf of the political parties.
