National Kabaddi Team Captain Anup Kumar inaugurates Sportopia and Acceleron 2018
Gurugram: India (7th March, 2018) G D Goenka University kick started its 3rd annual techno-cultural fest “Acceleron” and sports fest “Sportopia” on 7th March 2018. The 3 day event had a vibrant and colorful opening ceremony. University Vice Chancellor Prof.(Dr.) Srihari along with Mr. Anup Kumar addressed the gathering with their best wishes and released white pigeons along with colorful balloons as a mark of peace. The welcome address was delivered by Prof.(Dr.) Tanuja Kaushik, Dean Student Welfare. With its previous editions it has established itself as an excellent platform to showcase all kinds of different talents ranging from arts, educational and sports to informal ones. 
“Student festivals act as a catalyst to spark the best of creativity and talent out of students, it also provides them with a larger platform to interact with their peers from several other institutions and universities. Sports and Arts act as a great bridge between different cultural outlooks”, said Dr. Srihari, Vice Chancellor of the university With a bouquet of inter-university events and competition, GD Goenka is likely to host around 100 universities and institutes from Delhi NCR and other parts of India, participating in 30+ events. Some of the most popular events of Acceleron are, Folk Dance, Street Play, Debate Competition, Mixology (Food Competition) whereas, for Sportopia competition will be held in sports like Badminton, Basketball, Football, and Cricket.
The expected footfall is likely to be more than 5000. The lucky winners in these events will not only get trophies but cash prizes as well. The event will be followed by a “Pro Night” with exciting Dance and DJ performances. Both these events have been creating a lot of buzz on social media with students actively promoting the events.
