Siliguri, West Bengal: Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Friday reviewed the border security strategy and modern technological capabilities of the Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) personnel in Siliguri, West Bengal.
The Home Minister commended the diligence, efficiency and dedication of the SSB in securing India’s open borders while maintaining cultural coordination and friendly relations with neighbouring countries.
Highlighting the government’s efforts to strengthen border management, Amit Shah said that the Modi government is working to make India’s border security world-class through the deployment of advanced technologies and modern security mechanisms.
These include drone and anti-drone systems, thermal imaging, AI-based surveillance, smart surveillance grids and real-time intelligence sharing. He also highlighted the role of a triangular security grid in further strengthening border protection.
The Home Minister said the integration of modern technology with the commitment and professionalism of India’s border guarding forces is playing a crucial role in enhancing the country’s overall border security.
