New Delhi: The 22nd Commonwealth Table Tennis Championship 2026 concluded successfully at the Thyagaraj Stadium in New Delhi, marking another milestone in the capital’s efforts to establish itself as a global sporting destination.
The championship witnessed participation from 25 Commonwealth nations, with athletes competing across multiple categories over the course of the tournament.
Team India delivered an impressive performance, finishing with a total of 16 medals. The host nation secured gold medals in both the Men’s Team and Women’s Team events, underlining its strong presence in Commonwealth table tennis.
Looking ahead, Delhi is preparing to host the 2027 ISF World School Wrestling Championship and the ISF World School Badminton Championship. The city has also submitted its bid to host the National Games and the Khelo India Games, reflecting its ambition to become a premier venue for national and international sporting events.
With the successful organisation of another major international championship, Delhi continues to strengthen its reputation as an emerging global sports destination, backed by world-class infrastructure and growing experience in hosting multi-nation sporting events.
