New Delhi: Indian space technology company Digantara has shared a memorable interaction with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, during which its founders presented the company’s indigenously developed Generation 2 optical payload, designed for advanced Space Domain Awareness and with potential applications in the country’s evolving missile defence capabilities.
According to Digantara, the Prime Minister took a keen interest in understanding the technology and its capabilities. After learning about the payload, he reportedly smiled and remarked, “Is this for me? Then I’m keeping this.”
The Bengaluru-based company said the interaction was a proud and unforgettable moment for its team. Digantara’s founders described Prime Minister Modi’s curiosity and detailed interest in the technology as particularly encouraging for Indian innovators and technology developers.
Emphasising its commitment to indigenous innovation, the company said the Gen 2 optical payload represents its vision of building advanced technologies in India for strategic and national security applications. The interaction, Digantara said, reflected the growing encouragement and support for home-grown technology and the country’s expanding ecosystem of innovation in the space and defence sectors.
