Scheduled from September 17 to 19, the three-day conference and exhibition will be jointly organised by the India Semiconductor Mission (ISM), Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology (MeitY), Government of India, and SEMI, the global industry association for the semiconductor and electronics sector.
Themed “Silicon to Systems: Building the Ecosystem,” SEMICON India 2026 will bring together global semiconductor industry leaders, government representatives, policymakers, investors, researchers, academia, startups and students to accelerate collaboration, innovation and investment across the semiconductor ecosystem.
India’s Semiconductor Mission Gains Momentum
India’s semiconductor ecosystem has been gaining momentum under the Semicon India Programme. As many as 12 semiconductor projects have been approved under Semicon 1.0, with three of these projects having already commenced commercial production.
The Union Cabinet has also approved the next phase, Semicon 2.0, aimed at further accelerating the development of a robust, resilient and globally competitive semiconductor ecosystem in India.
The government is also supporting semiconductor research, innovation and design by providing advanced design tools to more than 332 academic institutions and 105 startups. In addition, 24 startups have been approved under the Design Linked Incentive (DLI) scheme, supporting Indian innovators working on critical semiconductor applications.
These initiatives are aimed at building a comprehensive semiconductor ecosystem in line with the vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat.
Global Semiconductor Industry to Converge in Delhi
SEMICON India 2026 will feature keynotes, panel discussions, fireside chats, international country roundtables and strategic forums.
The conference will cover areas including semiconductor manufacturing and technology, AI and digital transformation, supply chains, chemicals, gases and materials, government policies, sustainability and ESG, product design, startups and innovation, talent and skilling, and India brands and market development.
The event will also feature six international country roundtables, a dedicated session on women empowerment and leadership, a workforce development session and a special session on industry associations collaborating for India’s ESDM growth.

India Seeks Greater Role in Global Semiconductor Supply Chain
S. Krishnan, Secretary, MeitY, said the growing participation in SEMICON India reflects increasing confidence in India’s semiconductor programme. He noted that this year’s event is particularly significant against the backdrop of the commercial production beginning at three of the 12 projects approved under Semicon 1.0 and the launch of Semicon 2.0 with six major pillars.
Ajit Manocha, President and CEO of SEMI, said India is well positioned to become an integral part of the global semiconductor supply chain, leveraging its talent, ambition and long-term vision.
Amitesh Kumar Sinha, Additional Secretary, MeitY and CEO, ISM, said SEMICON India 2026 will provide an opportunity for companies, countries, policymakers, supply-chain partners and Indian manufacturers to explore collaboration and investment opportunities.
He highlighted that global semiconductor demand is expected to rise from around $1 trillion to $2 trillion, while India’s semiconductor requirement is projected to increase from approximately $100 billion to $200 billion.
Ashok Chandak, President, SEMI India & IESA, said the theme “Silicon to Systems – Building the Ecosystem” reflects India’s evolution towards creating a comprehensive and globally competitive semiconductor value chain.
The event will also introduce a “Sand to Silicon to Systems” Value Chain Experience, showcasing India’s capabilities across the semiconductor ecosystem.
