The ministerial platform focuses on advancing cooperation between the two countries across areas including advanced manufacturing, connectivity, digitalisation, healthcare, skill development and sustainability.

Jaishankar also expressed his intention to continue discussions with Balakrishnan during the ministerial roundtable, which is aimed at identifying new opportunities to advance the implementation of the Singapore-India Comprehensive Strategic Partnership Roadmap.

Earlier on August 19, Jaishankar and Balakrishnan jointly laid the foundation stone for the new Chancery complex of the Indian High Commission in Singapore. Jaishankar said the new facility would reflect a new phase in the bilateral partnership and strengthen services for the Indian diaspora.
