New Delhi : Rajya Sabha MP and Congress spokesperson Pawan Khera has accused BJP-ruled governments of repeatedly attempting to obstruct events associated with Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, particularly programmes involving students.

In a post on X, Khera alleged that authorities in Pune had imposed restrictions ahead of the upcoming “Chhatron Ki Goonj” event, calling it the fourth such attempt to prevent the programme.

Khera also alleged that in Kota, the BJP government denied permission for the event, forced changes to the venue and prevented students from attending. In Dehradun, he claimed that a free-entry music concert was organised near Rahul Gandhi’s programme in an attempt to draw away the crowd.

Referring to Prayagraj, Khera alleged that the Uttar Pradesh government first blocked available venues and subsequently flooded the proposed event ground with sewage water.

Khera criticised what he described as repeated attempts to prevent Rahul Gandhi’s programmes, saying that such measures would not stop the Congress leader from pursuing his outreach initiatives.

“Once Rahul Gandhi sets his sights on something, stopping him is next to impossible,” Khera said, while announcing his participation in the upcoming event in Pune.

The allegations made by Khera could not be independently verified.
