New Delhi, August 6: Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge has approved the proposal for the constitution of the Executive Committee, Manifesto Committee, Disciplinary Action Committee, SIR Committee, and Chargesheet Committee of the Uttarakhand Pradesh Congress Committee (UPCC) with immediate effect.
The announcement was made through a press release issued by AICC General Secretary K.C. Venugopal.
Under the new organisational structure:
- Executive Committee: A 41-member Executive Committee has been constituted to strengthen the organisational functioning of the Uttarakhand Pradesh Congress Committee. The committee includes senior Congress leaders such as Ganesh Godiyal, Yashpal Arya, Harish Rawat, Pritam Singh, Gurdeep Singh Sappal, Qazi Nizamuddin, Prakash Joshi, Karan Mahara, Dr. Harak Singh Rawat, Bhuwan Chandra Kapri, and several other party leaders.
- Manifesto Committee: Bhuwan Kapri has been appointed Chairman, while Dr. Prem Bahukhandi will serve as Convenor. The committee also includes Gurdeep Singh Sappal, Suryakant Dhasmana, and Sujata Paul as members.
- Disciplinary Action Committee: Vikram Singh Negi has been named Chairman. Other members include Lalit Farswan, Anupam Sharma, Hema Purohit, and C.P. Singh.
SIR Committee: Manoj Rawat will head the committee as Chairman, with Amrender Bisht and Advocate Sandeep Chamoli serving as members.
Chargesheet Committee: Karan Mahara has been appointed Chairman of the committee. The members include Manoj Rawat, Dr. Prem Bahukhandi, and Dr. Pratima Singh.
According to the AICC, the committees have been constituted with immediate effect as part of the party’s efforts to strengthen its organisational structure and streamline political and administrative activities in Uttarakhand ahead of future electoral and organisational programmes.
