New Delhi: Ono Keiichi, Ambassador of Japan to India and Bhutan, hosted a send-off ceremony for eight Indian government officials who will pursue master’s degree programmes at universities in Japan under the Government of Japan’s Grant Aid Programme.
Speaking on the occasion, Ambassador Ono expressed his delight at interacting with the officials before the commencement of their academic journey. He wished them success in their studies and expressed confidence that the knowledge and expertise they acquire in Japan would contribute significantly to India’s development.
The Ambassador also said he looked forward to the officials playing an important role in further strengthening the India-Japan partnership upon their return, highlighting the importance of educational and people-to-people exchanges in deepening bilateral ties.
The initiative reflects the growing cooperation between India and Japan in the fields of education, capacity building and human resource development, while reinforcing the longstanding strategic partnership between the two countries.
