New Delhi/Brussels: Union Minister for Commerce and Industry Piyush Goyal held an interaction with members of the Indian business delegation in Brussels, discussing the vast opportunities that the proposed India-European Union Free Trade Agreement (FTA) could create for Indian industry and businesses.
The meeting was attended by representatives from leading industry bodies, including the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI), the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), ASSOCHAM, along with several regional business associations.
During the interaction, Goyal emphasised that the India-EU FTA has the potential to unlock significant economic opportunities by improving market access and strengthening trade relations between the two partners. He said the agreement is expected to generate tangible benefits for Indian businesses, particularly Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), while also contributing to economic growth and creating new opportunities for the people of India.
The discussions focused on gathering industry feedback and ensuring that the proposed trade agreement addresses the interests of Indian enterprises, enabling them to expand their presence in European markets and enhance global competitiveness.
