Gurugram : Gurugram is poised to add a significant milestone to Haryana’s judicial infrastructure with the inauguration of the state-of-the-art ‘Tower of Justice’ by the Chief Justice of India, Justice Surya Kant Sharma, on Saturday. With all administrative and judicial arrangements now complete, the city is fully prepared to host the landmark event.
Ahead of the inauguration, Acting Chief Justice of the Punjab and Haryana High Court Justice Ashwani Kumar Mishra and Justice Harsimran Singh Sethi, Chairman of the Building Committee (Haryana), conducted a comprehensive inspection of the new judicial complex to assess the final preparations. They were accompanied by Additional Chief Secretary (PWD) Apoorv Kumar Singh, District and Sessions Judge Narendra Sura, Deputy Commissioner Uttam Singh, Commissioner of Police Shibas Kaviraj, Additional Director, Information, Public Relations and Languages Department Manish Lohan, along with senior judicial and administrative officials.
Deputy Commissioner Uttam Singh described the inauguration as a landmark moment in Haryana’s efforts to modernize its judicial infrastructure. He said the new complex reflects the state’s commitment to delivering justice through a system that is more accessible, transparent and driven by advanced technology.
The inaugural ceremony will be attended by Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini, Union Minister for Power, Housing and Urban Affairs Manohar Lal, Union Minister of State for Law and Justice Arjun Ram Meghwal, Union Minister of State Rao Inderjit Singh, Acting Chief Justice Justice Ashwani Kumar Mishra, judges of the Supreme Court of India and the Punjab and Haryana High Court, Justice Harsimran Singh Sethi, Justice Rohit Kapoor, Administrative Judge of the Gurugram Sessions Division, besides state ministers, public representatives, judicial officers, senior advocates and senior administrative officials.
According to the Deputy Commissioner, the district administration and judicial authorities have worked in close coordination for several days under the guidance of District and Sessions Judge Narendra Sura to ensure smooth conduct of the event. Elaborate arrangements have been made for security, traffic regulation, parking, VIP movement, emergency medical services, fire safety, electricity and water supply, sanitation, beautification, signage, media coordination, and reception and seating of guests.
Modern Judicial Complex with Advanced Infrastructure
The newly constructed Tower of Justice has been designed as a flagship judicial infrastructure project that will redefine court facilities in Haryana. The complex houses 56 fully equipped courtrooms and includes a range of modern amenities such as a Judicial Service Centre, conference halls, litigants’ waiting areas, separate lock-ups for men and women, server and CCTV control rooms, a crèche and a dedicated mother-and-child care room.
To support technology-enabled judicial functioning, the complex has been fitted with dedicated escalator blocks, video conferencing facilities, an integrated CCTV surveillance system, LAN connectivity and uninterrupted power backup, enabling efficient, secure and transparent court operations.
Beyond courtrooms, the complex offers extensive public and professional facilities, including parking space for 530 vehicles—with 130 parking slots at the main building and 400 spaces in a multi-level basement parking facility. It also features a spacious advocates’ bar room, bar library, canteen, public cafeteria, judges’ dining area, gymnasium, copying agency and several administrative support facilities.
With its modern architecture and comprehensive infrastructure, the Tower of Justice is expected to significantly enhance the delivery of justice in Haryana while positioning Gurugram among the cities with the country’s most advanced judicial complexes.
