New Delhi/Washington : Former US President Donald Trump has said that any decision regarding a further reduction of American troops stationed in Europe will depend on several key geopolitical developments, including the situation surrounding Greenland and Iran.

Responding to questions on whether the United States would withdraw more troops from Europe, Trump said that no final decision had been taken so far. He indicated that the future course of action would be influenced by developments involving Greenland, stating that “a lot will depend on Greenland.”

Addressing the issue of Iran, Trump said that European countries are now showing willingness to support the United States, but criticised their earlier response, saying that when they had the opportunity to provide assistance, “they didn’t.”

Trump’s remarks come amid ongoing discussions over America’s military presence in Europe and broader strategic issues involving transatlantic relations, Arctic geopolitics, and security challenges in the Middle East.
