New Delhi : In a major step towards strengthening #RakshaAtmanirbharta (Self-Reliant India in Defence) and promoting Ease of Doing Business in the defence sector, the Directorate General of Quality Assurance (DGQA) has granted ‘Self Certification Status’ to Troop Comforts Limited for its Ordnance Equipment Factory, Kanpur unit.

The certificate was formally handed over by Shri N. Manoharan, Director General, DGQA, to Troop Comforts Limited for achieving self-certification capability for two textile and clothing items under military stores.

The move aligns with the vision of the Hon’ble Raksha Mantri and the Secretary of Defence Production to enhance indigenous defence manufacturing, streamline quality assurance processes, and empower Indian defence industries.

With the grant of self-certification status, Troop Comforts Limited will now be able to supply these military stores based on its own quality assurance guarantee, reducing procedural delays and accelerating deliveries to the Indian Defence Forces.

The initiative is expected to improve efficiency in the defence supply chain while encouraging greater participation of Indian companies in defence production.

The development marks another important milestone in India’s journey towards defence self-reliance by promoting domestic manufacturing, strengthening quality standards, and ensuring timely availability of essential equipment for the armed forces.
