New Delhi : The new Integrated Terminal Building at Jodhpur Airport, designed to reflect the architectural grandeur and cultural legacy of Rajasthan—particularly the craftsmanship of Marwar—was formally inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The ceremony marked a significant milestone in the modernisation of aviation infrastructure in western India, with the terminal envisioned as both a functional transport hub and a visual tribute to the region’s rich heritage.
The event was attended by several dignitaries, including Rajasthan Governor Haribhau Kisanrao Bagde, Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma, Union Civil Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu Kinjarapu, Union Culture and Tourism Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, Minister of State for Civil Aviation and Cooperation Murlidhar Mohol, and Civil Aviation Secretary Samir Kumar Sinha, among other senior officials.
Built at an estimated cost of ₹480 crore, the state-of-the-art terminal incorporates modern passenger amenities while integrating design elements inspired by traditional Rajasthani architecture. Officials highlighted that the structure is intended to enhance passenger handling capacity, improve travel experience, and support the growing demand for air connectivity in the region.
The project is also expected to significantly strengthen regional connectivity in western India, providing a boost to tourism, trade, and associated economic activities in and around Jodhpur. With improved infrastructure and expanded aviation capacity, the terminal aligns with the broader national vision of Viksit Bharat 2047, aimed at building world-class infrastructure to support long-term economic growth.
