New Delhi : The Ministry of Ayush on Thursday signed an MoU with the Digital India BHASHINI Division (DIBD) under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) to strengthen multilingual access to Ayush services and knowledge systems through AI-powered language technologies.
The partnership, launched under the “BHASHINI Rajyam – A BHASHINI Sahayogi Program,” aims to integrate the BHASHINI platform across the Ministry of Ayush’s digital ecosystem, including Ayush Grid portals, applications, and AI-enabled solutions. The initiative seeks to make Ayush services accessible in all 22 scheduled Indian languages recognised under the Constitution.
Under the collaboration, BHASHINI’s translation APIs, speech recognition, and voice technologies will be integrated into Ayush platforms to improve accessibility, citizen engagement, and healthcare communication across linguistic regions. The initiative will also focus on building domain-specific multilingual terminology systems and contextual AI models for Ayurveda, Yoga & Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha, Sowa-Rigpa, and Homoeopathy.
The MoU was signed by Dr. Subodh Kumar, Director, Ministry of Ayush, and Amitabh Nag, CEO, Digital India BHASHINI Division, in the presence of Ayush Secretary Vaidya Rajesh Kotecha and Joint Secretary Dr. Kavita Jain.
Speaking on the occasion, Vaidya Rajesh Kotecha said the collaboration would help make India’s traditional healthcare knowledge more accessible across linguistic boundaries and strengthen inclusive healthcare delivery. Dr. Kavita Jain highlighted the transformative role of multilingual AI technologies in improving grassroots healthcare accessibility and citizen-centric digital services.
Shri Nag said the partnership would contribute towards building multilingual and voice-enabled healthcare ecosystems aligned with India’s broader Digital Public Infrastructure vision.
During the event, BHASHINI also demonstrated several AI-driven citizen-centric solutions, including multilingual doctor-patient interaction systems, real-time meeting transcription tools, voice-based CV creation platforms, and technologies for digitisation and preservation of ancient manuscripts.
The collaboration reflects the Ministry of Ayush’s continued push towards leveraging emerging technologies to create an inclusive and digitally empowered Ayush ecosystem across the country.
