New Delhi : U.S. Vice President JD Vance departed Islamabad after the United States and Iran failed to reach a diplomatic agreement following extensive negotiations.

As per media reports , speaking at a press conference, Vance acknowledged the outcome, stating, “The bad news is that we have not reached an agreement. I think that is worse news for Iran than it is for the United States. We return to the U.S. without a deal, as they have chosen not to accept our terms.”

After 21 hours of direct talks, the Vice President emphasized that the U.S. had clearly outlined its non-negotiable conditions, as well as areas where it was willing to show flexibility. He described the proposal presented to Iran as “our final and best offer.”

While declining to disclose full details of the discussions, Vance underscored a key U.S. demand: a firm commitment from Iran not to pursue nuclear weapons or develop the capabilities to rapidly produce them.

He also revealed that during the intense negotiations in Islamabad, U.S. officials remained in close contact with President Donald Trump, consulting him multiple times. The effort involved senior members of the national security team, including Pete Hegseth, Marco Rubio, and Scott Bessent, along with military leadership.
