Gurugram : Dakshin Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam (DHBVN) has issued directives to all operational circles within the state to remove defunct 33 kV and 11 kV power lines.
In accordance with the instructions of Managing Director Vikram Singh, the office of the Chief Engineer (PD&C) has issued directives to the Superintending Engineers of all operational circles regarding this matter.
The directives state that this decision was taken during a meeting of the Corporation’s Whole-Time Directors (WTDs). All SE (Operation) circles and Construction circles are required to jointly identify, within their respective jurisdictions, those 33 kV lines that are currently not in use or are not expected to serve as primary or alternative sources for 33 kV substations in the future. Similarly, all circles have been instructed to identify defunct 11 kV lines that are not intended for use as 11 kV feeders in the future.
The Corporation has clarified that, following the identification of such lines, the concerned officials must obtain permission from the competent authority and ensure that the dismantling process is carried out in strict adherence to the prescribed rules.
A Corporation spokesperson stated that this decision is expected to contribute to making the power distribution system safer, more organized, and more efficient by facilitating the removal of defunct power lines.
