New Delhi : According to media reports Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has made strong allegations against Iran, accusing it of actions that have directly harmed Ukraine and supported Russia during the ongoing conflict.
Zelenskyy stated that Ukraine had taken no hostile steps against Iran, yet Tehran was responsible for shooting down a Ukrainian passenger aircraft, resulting in the deaths of all passengers and crew onboard. He further alleged that Iranian authorities initially denied responsibility and restricted access to international investigators.
The Ukrainian leader also claimed that following the outbreak of war, Iran supplied Shahed drones to Russia, which were subsequently deployed in attacks targeting Ukrainian civilians.
According to Zelenskyy, despite assurances from Iran that it would limit such military support, the country continued to provide weapons, contradicting its own commitments.
Citing these developments, Zelenskyy asserted that Iran effectively functions as an ally of Russia in the ongoing war.
