New Delhi : Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the Karmayogi Sadhna Saptah through a video message on the foundation day of the Capacity Building Commission (CBC), extending his best wishes to all participants.
Highlighting the need for governance to evolve with a rapidly changing global landscape, the Prime Minister said that India must continuously upgrade its administrative systems to remain effective in the 21st century. He described Karmayogi Sadhna Saptah as a key initiative aimed at ensuring that public service remains relevant, responsive, and future-ready.
Emphasising the guiding principle of governance, the Prime Minister reiterated the mantra of “Nagrik Devo Bhava,” underlining that citizens remain at the core of all administrative efforts. He noted that governance today is being reshaped to become more citizen-centric, sensitive, and efficient.
Reflecting on the establishment of the Capacity Building Commission, PM Modi stated that while several institutions have contributed to governance since independence, there was a need for a dedicated body focused on enhancing the capabilities of government employees. He praised the role of initiatives like Mission Karmayogi in building a workforce that is modern, skilled, and committed to public service.
Linking the initiative to the broader vision of a developed India, the Prime Minister stressed the importance of rapid economic growth, modern infrastructure, technological advancement, and a skilled workforce. He said public servants have a crucial role in fulfilling the aspirations of citizens and improving their quality of life.
Calling for a shift in administrative culture, PM Modi urged officials to prioritise duty over designation and to adopt a spirit of continuous learning. He emphasised that governance should aim to improve the Ease of Living and overall well-being of citizens.
Highlighting the growing role of technology, particularly Artificial Intelligence, the Prime Minister said that future-ready administrators must have a strong understanding of data and digital tools, as these will increasingly guide decision-making processes.
He also stressed the importance of cooperative federalism, noting that the progress of the nation depends on the collective advancement of all states. Calling for better coordination and a whole-of-government approach, he urged officials to break silos and work in unison.
In his concluding remarks, the Prime Minister underlined that public trust in governance is shaped by the conduct and efficiency of government officials at all levels. He expressed confidence that the Karmayogi Sadhna Saptah will play a significant role in strengthening governance and advancing India’s journey towards becoming a developed nation.
