NCL Achieves 140 MT Coal Production Target Ahead of Schedule

New Delhi : Northern Coalfields Limited (NCL), the Singrauli-based flagship arm of Coal India Limited, has successfully met its annual coal production target of 140 million tonnes for the financial year 2025–26 ahead of schedule, achieving the milestone on March 30, 2026, during the first shift.

Operating through 10 highly mechanised opencast mines, NCL has continued its strong track record of consistently meeting annual production targets over the past decade, reflecting operational efficiency and robust performance.

The company has played a pivotal role in strengthening India’s energy security, with domestic coal continuing to serve as a dependable backbone of the country’s power sector. NCL’s sustained production growth has ensured a steady and reliable supply of coal to thermal power plants across the nation.

On the achievement, the management commended the collective efforts of its workforce, highlighting their dedication, resilience, and commitment. Appreciation was also extended to stakeholders for their continued support and cooperation in enabling the company to reach this milestone.
