New Delhi : Former U.S. counterterrorism official Joe Kent has raised concerns over recent U.S.-Israel actions involving Iran, arguing that such moves could undermine diplomatic efforts in the region.

Kent stated that attempts by Donald Trump to ease tensions with Iran are being complicated by actions attributed to Benjamin Netanyahu, particularly strikes targeting key Iranian energy infrastructure.

He emphasised that meaningful negotiations with Iran would require a reassessment of U.S. support to Israel, including military assistance.

Who is Joe Kent?

Joe Kent recently stepped down from his role as a counterterrorism chief in the United States. He has been vocal about his opposition to the current approach toward Iran and has urged a shift in policy, calling on former President Trump to reconsider his stance in favour of de-escalation and dialogue.
