Chandigarh : The State Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Bureau Haryana has filed a chargesheet against two Home Guards in connection with a bribery case in Mahendragarh district.
According to officials, the chargesheet was submitted on March 11, 2026, in the court of Nitin Raj under Sections 7A and 13(1)(b) read with Section 13(2) of the Prevention of Corruption Act, along with Section 308(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.
The accused have been identified as Satish, a Home Guard posted at Sadar Police Station in Mahendragarh, and Rakesh, another Home Guard posted at the Home Guard Office in Narnaul.
As per the prosecution, the complaint was filed by Ashok Kumar, a Home Guard deployed at Sadar Police Station, Mahendragarh, and a resident of Kurahwata village. In his complaint to the vigilance bureau, he alleged that the two accused demanded a bribe of ₹6,000 in exchange for ensuring his re-deployment every three months and for assigning him duty at a location close to his residence.
The complainant alleged that Satish had already accepted ₹4,000 and later called him on January 14, 2026, to collect the remaining ₹2,000.
Acting on the complaint, the vigilance team set up a trap and sent the complainant to meet the accused with the remaining amount. Satish was caught red-handed while accepting the ₹2,000 bribe on January 14, 2026.
During the investigation, evidence also pointed to the involvement of co-accused Rakesh Kumar, who was subsequently arrested the same day as per legal procedures. A case was registered at the vigilance police station in Gurugram under relevant sections of the Prevention of Corruption Act.
After completing the investigation and collecting evidence, the bureau has now filed the chargesheet against both accused in the court for further legal proceedings.
