Chargesheet Filed Against Three Police Personnel in ₹4 Lakh Bribery Case

Chandigarh : The State Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Bureau Haryana has filed a chargesheet against three police personnel in connection with an alleged bribery case in Gurugram district.

According to officials, the chargesheet was submitted on March 11, 2026, in the court of Amit Gautam under Sections 7 and 7A read with Section 13(2) of the Prevention of Corruption Act.

The accused include Inspector Jaiprakash, who is currently serving as a Deputy Superintendent of Police, Sub-Inspector Narendra Gulia, and Head Constable Azad Singh. All three were previously posted at Bilaspur Police Station in Gurugram district at the time of the alleged incident.

As per the prosecution, the accused officials allegedly demanded a bribe of ₹4 lakh from the complainant in return for removing his son’s name from a criminal case registered at Bilaspur Police Station. The case was related to an alleged assault involving the complainant and his family members.

Acting on the complaint, the vigilance bureau initiated an investigation and registered a case at its Gurugram police station under the relevant provisions of the Prevention of Corruption Act.

After completing the probe and collecting sufficient evidence, the vigilance bureau has now submitted the chargesheet against the three accused in the court for further legal proceedings.
