Chandigarh : The State Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Bureau has filed a charge sheet against two GST inspectors in connection with a corruption case in Gurugram. The challan was submitted on March 10, 2026, in the court of Additional Sessions Judge Puneet Sehgal.
The accused have been identified as Rohitash Saini and Jitendra Barwad, both serving as GST Inspectors. The charge sheet has been filed under Sections 7 and 13(1)(b) read with Section 13(2) of the Prevention of Corruption Act, along with Section 384 of the Indian Penal Code.
According to the prosecution, the accused allegedly demanded a bribe of ₹20,000 from a complainant in exchange for activating his GST registration number.
The case was registered by the State Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Bureau, Gurugram, under FIR No. 06 dated February 19, 2024. After completing the investigation, the bureau has now submitted the charge sheet before the court for further legal proceedings.
Officials stated that strict action will continue to be taken against government officials involved in corruption.
