Gurugram : The Municipal Corporation of Gurugram (MCG) took strict action against roadside littering in the IFFCO Chowk area by directing a dhaba operator to immediately clean the waste dumped outside his establishment. The operator was also warned that any repeat violation would invite strict action under the Solid Waste Management Rules.
The action was taken during a joint inspection conducted by the MCG team at a designated Garbage Vulnerable Point near IFFCO Chowk in Sector-29. The inspection aimed to review sanitation arrangements in the area, strengthen waste management practices, and create awareness among citizens about maintaining cleanliness.
Kuldeep Hindustani, Brand Ambassador of the Swachh Bharat Mission for MCG, was present during the inspection along with members of the HMS team, including Aniruddh Pratap, Manoj, and Sunny Singh. The team inspected the area and reviewed sanitation infrastructure to ensure that the vulnerable point remained free from garbage and that no illegal dumping was taking place in the vicinity.
During the visit, officials also interacted with local shopkeepers, residents, and passersby to promote responsible waste disposal. Kuldeep Hindustani encouraged people to adopt the 3R principle — Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle — and stressed the importance of segregating wet and dry waste at the source for proper disposal.
The team further reviewed the waste collection system in the area and instructed sanitation workers to ensure timely collection and maintain hygiene standards through regular monitoring.
Officials stated that maintaining cleanliness at busy locations like IFFCO Chowk requires continuous monitoring and active public cooperation. They added that similar inspections and awareness drives will continue to ensure Gurugram remains clean, organized, and free from waste.
