Gives guidance to concerned departments during a review meeting on water conservation and sanitation works

Gurugram : To review the progress of the Jal Shakti Abhiyan – Catch the Rain 2025, Ram Singh, Joint Secretary of the Ministry of Minority Affairs, visited Gurugram district today. The visit was coordinated by Sumit Kumar, Chief Executive Officer of the Zila Parishad, and Manish Chhikara, Executive Engineer of the Irrigation Department.

As per the scheduled schedule, the central team visited Village Lokri in Pataudi block, where they interacted with the Village Water and Sanitation Committee and the local community to assess the drinking water and sanitation situation in the village under the Jal Jeevan Mission and Swachh Bharat Mission. They then inspected the Masani Barrage and the Sewage Treatment Plant (STP) in Baharampur, operated by the Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA).

Following his visit, the Joint Secretary chaired a review meeting in the NIC Conference Hall at the Mini Secretariat, where officials from the Irrigation Department, Public Health Engineering Department, Swachh Bharat Mission, and Agriculture Department made presentations on water conservation, recharge structures, and community soak pits. The meeting also provided necessary guidelines for water management and sanitation improvements in rural and urban areas of the district.
