Gurugram : Trucks carrying relief material were dispatched from Gurugram on Monday to help the families affected by the recent severe floods in Punjab. Gurugram MLA Mukesh Sharma flagged off 3 trucks loaded with relief material for Amritsar district of Punjab.

On this occasion, the MLA said that helping each other in times of disaster and crisis is our biggest responsibility. He said that this material has been prepared with the help of the people of Gurugram, social organizations and the administration so that flood-affected families can get relief. He said that helping in times of crisis is not just charity, but the biggest duty of humanity.

The MLA said that apart from medicines and medical kits, the trucks sent include flour, pulses, rice, sugar, mustard oil, salt, spices, essential items for children and women, clothes, shoes and slippers and other essential items. This material has been prepared keeping in mind the immediate needs in the flood affected areas.

The MLA said that disaster does not come looking at any area or person, but in such circumstances, uniting and holding each other’s hands is the true identity of humanity. He said that the land of Gurugram has always been known for the spirit of service and cooperation. This is the reason why the people here come forward to provide relief in every crisis. He expressed confidence that this material will not only meet the immediate needs of the affected families, but will also make them feel that the whole country stands with them.

On the occasion of sending the relief material, many public representatives, social organizations and administrative officers including BJP District President Sarvpriya Tyagi, District Red Cross Society Secretary Vikas Kumar were present.
