50 Years of Emergency : Awareness Exhibition held in Gurugram’s Mini Secretariat Complex

Gurugram : The Government of India, remembering dark age of democracy on the completion of 50 years of Emergency . Department of Information, Public Relations, Language and Culture, Haryana  organized an exhibition in Gurugram’s Mini Secretariat Complex to pay homage and respect to the victims of Emergency. In this exhibition, memories of various incidents related to the attack on democracy during the Emergency have been displayed through various slides .

The exhibition was inaugurated by Hindi Movement Satyagrahi ( 1957 ) Ishwar Chand . Coincidentally, his 85th birthday was also on this day. He said that through this effort of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the young generation will get accurate information about the situation that arose in the country after the imposition of emergency to crush democracy in the year 1975. Also, there will be an opportunity to know about the struggle of the Satyagrahis who re-established democracy and saved the dignity of the Constitution.

He saluted the Satyagrahis of democracy and said that your contribution to the protection of the Constitution in India can never be forgotten. District Information and Public Relations Officer Bijendra Kumar honored Satyagrahi Ishwar Chand by garlanding him. He told that in this exhibition, the struggle of Satyagrahis, censorship on the press, violation of civil rights, attack on the constitutional structure and violation of values, mass movement, imprisonment of senior leaders, especially Bharat Ratna and former Prime Minister Late Atal Bihari Vajpayee, Late Chandrashekhar, former Deputy Prime Minister Lal Krishna Advani etc., ban on creativity etc. have been displayed through slides. The objective of this exhibition was to make the youth aware of the truth of that period and to raise awareness towards the protection of democratic values.

It is noteworthy that along with Gurugram, this exhibition will also be held in Pataudi sub-division. The exhibition will be inaugurated in the sub-divisional secretariat of Pataudi from July 17. The exhibition in the Mini Secretariat Complex Gurugram is attracting the attention of people coming for Saral Kendra and other necessary work. Through this exhibition, people are getting an opportunity to know about the incident of depriving the people of constitutional rights 50 years ago.

On this occasion, Information Assistant Savita, Information Center Assistant Vishwas Saini, Vijay Rohilla, Narendra, Neeraj and Amit Kumar along with other persons from the Department of Information, Public Relations and Language were also present.
