– Property owners of Gurugram deposited property tax by getting the property data self-verified on the NDC portal

Gurugram, March 31 :  Municipal Corporation Gurugram collected an amount of Rs 240 crore as property tax in the financial year 2024-25 . Property owners of Gurugram paid their property tax by self-certifying their property data on the NDC portal. This figure is till 5 pm on March 31.

Special camps were also continuously organized by Municipal Corporation Gurugram to assist property owners by visiting their residential colonies, sectors and societies to provide facility for property tax data correction, self-verification and depositing property tax. Property owners took advantage of the facility provided through these camps.

Along with this, the guidelines issued by Municipal Commissioner Ashok Kumar Garg to the officers of the Tax Branch from time to time also proved helpful in increasing the property tax amount. Clear instructions were given from time to time by the Municipal Commissioner to the officers associated with the Tax Branch. These include instructions to set up help desks in Municipal Corporation offices for the convenience of the citizens, including prompt resolution of the objections received, and to organize special camps continuously at various places.

Municipal Corporation Gurugram Commissioner Ashok Kumar Garg said that under the Haryana Municipal Corporation Act-1994, it is mandatory to deposit property tax every year for all types of residential, commercial, industrial, institutional buildings and vacant plots located in the Municipal Corporation limits. Property tax is determined every year from 1 April to 31 March, which has to be paid by 31 March every year. In case of non-payment of property tax on time, interest is charged at the rate of 18 percent per annum and the process of sealing and auctioning the defaulter property can also be adopted.

Self-verification of property data is mandatory on NDC portal

The Municipal Commissioner said that property owners who have not yet self-verified their property data must do so on the NDC portal. The NDC portal will be operational again in the next 2-3 days. Property owners should search property data through their property ID by logging in with their registered mobile number and after reviewing the information given in all the columns, click on yes and submit for self-verification. If there is any kind of error in your data, then register an objection for its correction. He said that it is mandatory to self-verify the property data.
