Gurugram, March 31 : Sanitation Security Force of Municipal Corporation Gurugram took a major action on Monday. The team raided a plastic manufacturing factory in Bhim Colony Sarai Alawardi area and seized 7300 kg of banned single use plastic and also imposed a fine of Rs 7 lakh on the concerned person.

On Monday, the Sanitation Security Force raided a factory during inspection. Here the team saw a large amount of banned plastic. After adequate investigation and action, the team seized the entire plastic and imposed a fine on the concerned person and also strictly instructed him that the use, storage, sale and manufacture of single use plastic has been banned by the government and continuous action is being taken against those who do not follow the rules.

It is noteworthy that the Sanitation Security Force formed under the leadership of Additional Municipal Commissioner Dr. Balpreet Singh is running a strict campaign against single use plastic in the city. The team is inspecting various markets and mandi areas from time to time and raids are also being conducted on big stockists and manufacturing factories.

According to Municipal Commissioner Ashok Kumar Garg, strict steps are being taken against single use plastic. Along with this, citizens are also being made aware that they should not use single use plastic as it is harmful for our health and environment. Citizens are requested to use cloth or jute bags and contribute to the plastic pollution free Gurugram campaign. The objective of this campaign is to make Gurugram single use plastic free, so that the environment can be kept safe.
