Centre to feature state-of-the-art facilities, combining advanced technology with modern engineering

Chief Minister studies Singapore’s Suntec City to understand global best practices

Chandigarh/Gurugram: During his visit to Singapore, Haryana Chief Minister Sh. Nayab Singh Saini studied international-standard facilities and arrangements relevant to the proposed world-class convention centre to be developed in Gurugram. As part of the visit, the Chief Minister undertook a detailed study of the renowned Suntec City in Singapore, gathering information about its convention facilities, construction techniques, modern engineering systems and operational mechanisms.

During the Chief Minister’s visit, Haryana Industries and Commerce Minister Sh. Rao Narbir Singh, Commissioner and Secretary, Industries and Commerce Department, Dr. Amit Kumar Agrawal, Director General, Industries and Commerce Department, Sh. Yash Garg, Director, Information, Public Relations, Languages and Culture Department, Dr. Aditya Dahiya, and Managing Director, HSIIDC, Sh. Vinay Pratap Singh, along with other senior officers, were present.

The Chief Minister said that the Haryana Government will develop a world-class convention centre spread over approximately 25 acres in Gurugram. The study of the convention facilities at Singapore’s Suntec City will help in understanding and adopting international best practices for the proposed project.

The convention centre will be equipped with state-of-the-art technology and modern engineering systems and will be designed to host major international conferences, business meetings, exhibitions and other global-level events.

He said the development of a world-class convention centre would further strengthen Gurugram’s position on the global map and promote investment and business activities in the state. This, in turn, would contribute positively to Haryana’s economic growth.

Large, Aesthetically Designed Park to be Developed in Manesar

The Chief Minister also highlighted the development plans for the Manesar region. He said the Haryana Government will develop state-of-the-art infrastructure in Manesar along with a large and aesthetically designed park.

The initiative will accelerate the overall development of the area while providing residents with improved civic amenities and a greener environment.

During his visit, Chief Minister Sh. Nayab Singh Saini also studied the facilities at Singapore’s Gardens by the Bay, particularly those related to environmental conservation, preservation of plant species and advanced water-management technologies.

He closely observed the environment-friendly systems implemented at the gardens, with particular emphasis on water supply and conservation, and gathered information about the technologies and practices being followed there.

During the visit, Indian tourists at Gardens by the Bay met the Chief Minister and took photographs with him. Several families also clicked selfies with him. The Chief Minister also interacted warmly with foreign tourists visiting the attraction.

The visit provided an opportunity to study international best practices in modern urban planning, convention infrastructure, environmental conservation and water management. The Haryana Government will explore concrete measures to adopt suitable global practices and further develop the state as a modern, progressive and environmentally sustainable destination.
