India, Bangladesh Reaffirm Commitment to Strengthening Bilateral Ties

New Delhi : India’s High Commissioner to Bangladesh, Dinesh Trivedi, paid a courtesy call on Bangladesh President Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir at Bangabhaban in Dhaka on September 8.

During the meeting, both sides emphasised the importance of further strengthening India-Bangladesh bilateral relations for the mutual benefit of the people of the two countries.

The Indian High Commission said the discussions highlighted the deep-rooted bonds between India and Bangladesh, built on shared history, close cultural ties and strong people-to-people connections. Both sides underlined the need to further advance the bilateral partnership based on mutual respect, trust and cooperation. (Akashvani News)

The meeting also comes as both countries seek to address outstanding issues through dialogue. Bangladesh President Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir stressed the importance of finding fair and mutually acceptable solutions to issues of mutual interest, including the sharing of waters of common rivers.
