Greater Noida, September 2, 2026: Alok Kumar, Additional Chief Secretary, Infrastructure & Industrial Development and NRI Departments, Government of Uttar Pradesh, and Chairman of the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA), unveiled the plaque marking the establishment of Western Sydney University’s Greater Noida campus.
The campus marks a significant milestone for Uttar Pradesh as Western Sydney University becomes the first foreign university to establish a campus in the state.
Kumar said the development reflects Uttar Pradesh’s commitment to expanding access to high-quality international education while strengthening the state’s capabilities in research, innovation and skill development.
Focus on Future-Ready Skills and Research
The Greater Noida campus is expected to strengthen the region’s skills ecosystem, research capabilities and industry linkages, creating new opportunities for students and researchers to engage with global academic and professional networks.

Kumar congratulated Western Sydney University, the Government of New South Wales, ICAR and all other partners involved in bringing the project to Uttar Pradesh.
