New Delhi: Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Friday handed over financial assistance of ₹1 crore to the family of a frontline worker who lost his life while protecting the people of the national capital during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The financial assistance was provided as a mark of recognition for the frontline worker’s exceptional service and ultimate sacrifice in the fight against the pandemic.
On the occasion, Chief Minister Rekha Gupta paid tribute to the deceased frontline worker, stating that Delhi would always remain indebted to those who laid down their lives while serving the people during one of the most challenging public health crises in recent history.
“Delhi will forever remain indebted to this sacrifice,” the Chief Minister said.
She reiterated that the Delhi Government stands firmly with the bereaved family and remains committed to supporting them.
“The Delhi Government stands with the family in remembrance, gratitude and unwavering support,” she said.
The Chief Minister said the financial assistance reflects the government’s commitment to honouring the courage, dedication, and selfless service of frontline workers who risked their lives to protect citizens during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The gesture serves as a tribute to the invaluable contribution made by frontline personnel, whose tireless efforts played a crucial role in safeguarding public health and ensuring essential services during the unprecedented health emergency.
