New Delhi, August 1, 2026: Alka Nangia Arora, a 1991-batch Indian Defence Accounts Service (IDAS) officer, has assumed charge as the Controller General of Defence Accounts (CGDA) with effect from August 1, 2026. She succeeds Shri A. N. Das, who superannuated on July 31, 2026. The appointment follows the approval of the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC).
According to the Ministry of Defence, Alka Nangia Arora has held several key leadership positions during her distinguished career across the Ministries of Defence, Agriculture, Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME), and Textiles.
She has made significant contributions in the areas of public financial management, defence reforms, institutional governance, and national development through her extensive administrative and financial expertise.
The Appointment letter of Alka Nangia Arora is released by the Sr. Jt. CGDA (Admin) of the Controller General of Defence Accounts on 31st July .
