New Delhi : T.K. Anil Kumar has assumed charge as the Secretary, Department of School Education & Literacy under the Ministry of Education, Government of India, with effect from July 24, 2026.
A 1995-batch Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer of the Karnataka cadre, Anil Kumar takes over the position with extensive experience in public administration and governance.
Prior to his appointment, he served as Additional Secretary in the Ministry of Rural Development, where he was associated with the implementation of several key government programmes and policy initiatives.
With his appointment as Secretary, Department of School Education & Literacy, Anil Kumar is expected to lead the ministry’s efforts in strengthening school education, improving literacy initiatives, and advancing reforms in the country’s education sector.
