President Accepts Dharmendra Pradhan Resignation; Pralhad Joshi Given Additional Charge of Education Ministry

New Delhi, July 25: President of India has accepted the resignation of Dharmendra Pradhan from the Union Council of Ministers with immediate effect, acting on the advice of the Prime Minister.

According to a press communique issued by Rashtrapati Bhavan, the resignation has been accepted under Article 75(2) of the Constitution of India.

The President has also, on the advice of the Prime Minister, assigned the Ministry of Education to Cabinet Minister Pralhad Joshi, who will hold the portfolio in addition to his existing ministerial responsibilities.

With this decision, Pralhad Joshi becomes India’s new Education Minister, while continuing to oversee his current portfolios until further orders.

The announcement was made through an official communiqué issued by Rashtrapati Bhavan on July 25, 2026.
