New Delhi : Union Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal congratulated his friend Jonathan Reynolds MP on his appointment as the Secretary of State for Business, Innovation, Science and Trade of the United Kingdom.
In his message, Piyush Goyal highlighted that the appointment comes at a significant time for India–UK economic relations, with the Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement (CETA) between the two countries coming into force on 15 July.
The Minister expressed his commitment to working closely with Jonathan Reynolds to further strengthen the partnership between India and the UK by expanding investment opportunities, mobility provisions and economic cooperation.
He emphasized the shared vision of the leadership of both nations to build a modern, resilient and future-ready trade corridor that benefits businesses, industries and people in both countries.
Piyush Goyal also wished Jonathan Reynolds success in his new role and expressed confidence that the renewed cooperation will add further momentum to the India–UK strategic economic partnership.
