New Delhi : From the seabed to the sky, the India–Australia defence partnership is reaching new heights with enhanced military cooperation and joint exercises.
An Indian Air Force (IAF) contingent had the honour of interacting with Prime Minister of Australia Anthony Albanese during the opening ceremony of Exercise PITCH BLACK 2026 held at Darwin, Australia.
The IAF is participating in this prestigious multinational air combat exercise with four Rafale fighter aircraft and around 100 Air Warriors, showcasing India’s advanced air capabilities and operational readiness.
Hosted by Australia, Exercise PITCH BLACK 2026 is the largest international air combat exercise in the Southern Hemisphere, bringing together air forces from 20 countries to enhance interoperability, share operational experience and strengthen strategic partnerships.
During the exercise, Indian Air Warriors are training alongside international partners in complex air combat scenarios, advanced aerial operations and joint mission planning.
The participation of the Indian Rafales highlights the growing defence partnership between India and Australia and reflects their shared commitment towards a free, open and secure Indo-Pacific region.
