New Delhi: Senior Indian Police Service (IPS) officer Anurag Kumar has taken charge as the new Commissioner of Delhi Police, succeeding Satish Golcha, who was serving as the police chief of the national capital.

A 1994-batch IPS officer of the AGMUT cadre, Anurag Kumar was serving as Special Director in the Intelligence Bureau (IB) before being appointed by the Central Government to lead the Delhi Police.

With extensive experience in intelligence and law enforcement, Kumar brings a wide-ranging background in handling critical security and policing responsibilities.
