New Delhi /Moscow: Tensions between Russia and Germany have intensified after the Russian Foreign Ministry accused Berlin of being indirectly involved in attacks carried out by Ukraine against Russian civilian infrastructure, International media reported .
Media reports said that according to the Russian Foreign Ministry, Germany’s political and military support for Ukraine makes it a participant in the ongoing conflict. Moscow conveyed its concerns during a meeting with the German Ambassador, alleging that Western assistance to Kyiv is contributing to attacks targeting Russian territory.
The Russian side claimed that countries supporting Ukraine must take responsibility for the consequences of such actions.
Moscow Criticises German Media Coverage
The Russian Foreign Ministry also criticized reports published by German media outlets, claiming that their coverage of the conflict is increasingly resembling what Moscow described as “propaganda from the Nazi era.”
Russia alleged that certain sections of German media are presenting one-sided narratives and failing to provide balanced coverage of developments related to the Ukraine conflict.
Growing Strain in Russia-Germany Relations
The latest accusations come amid continuing tensions between Moscow and Berlin over Germany’s military and political support for Ukraine.
Germany has been among Ukraine’s key supporters since the beginning of the conflict, providing financial, humanitarian and defence assistance, while Russia has repeatedly criticized Western nations for their involvement.
The Russian Foreign Ministry’s remarks underline the deepening diplomatic divide between Russia and Germany as the Ukraine conflict continues to impact broader European security relations.
