Gurugram: Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini on Saturday described the newly inaugurated Tower of Justice in Gurugram as a landmark institution that embodies the dignity of the Constitution, the prestige of the judiciary and the unwavering faith of citizens in India’s justice delivery system. He said that achieving the vision of a Viksit Bharat requires not only sustained economic growth but also a judicial system that is swift, transparent and easily accessible to every citizen.
Addressing the gathering during the inauguration ceremony, the Chief Minister said Gurugram has evolved into a major hub of knowledge, technology, innovation, start-ups and global investment. In such a rapidly growing city, he said, the establishment of a world-class judicial complex will significantly strengthen the administration of justice while meeting the demands of a modern economy.
Recalling the project’s journey, Sh. Saini said the foundation stone of the judicial complex was laid in 2017, and its inauguration by Chief Justice of India Justice Surya Kant marks a historic and inspiring milestone. Referring to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of building a Viksit Bharat by 2047, he stressed that alongside Ease of Doing Business, the country must also focus on Ease of Justice. According to him, the justice delivery system should be simple, transparent, accessible and time-bound so that every citizen receives timely justice while economic development is supported by a robust legal framework.
Drawing inspiration from the Mahabharata, the Chief Minister referred to the dialogue between Yudhishthira and the Yaksha, saying that India’s judicial tradition has always been rooted in impartiality, righteousness and adherence to principles. He expressed confidence that the new judicial complex, located on the sacred land associated with Guru Dronacharya and Mata Sheetla Devi, would further reinforce public faith in the Constitution, democratic institutions and the rule of law.
Highlighting the scale and features of the project, Sh. Saini said the Tower of Justice, developed across two towers, is among the largest judicial complexes in North India. Replacing the earlier facility that housed 45 courtrooms, the new complex now provides 55 modern courtrooms equipped with advanced infrastructure. The building also includes a bank, post office, bar library, mediation centre and several other contemporary facilities designed to make the judicial process more efficient, effective and citizen-friendly.
On the occasion, the Chief Minister also announced that a portion of the old judicial complex will be redeveloped to construct modern chambers for advocates, ensuring they have improved and adequate workspace to carry out their professional responsibilities more efficiently.
The Chief Minister said the inauguration of the Tower of Justice marks another significant step in Haryana’s efforts to modernise judicial infrastructure and strengthen a justice delivery system that is responsive to the needs of citizens while supporting the state’s continued economic and social development.
