Chandigarh : Haryana’s Energy, Transport, and Labour Minister, Anil Vij, on Thursday asserted that strict action will be taken in the alleged ₹560 crore IDFC Bank scam, stating that those involved will not be spared. He also confirmed that the Chief Minister has decided to hand over the matter to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).
Speaking to media personnel, Vij said that a large-scale financial irregularity had taken place, with funds allegedly siphoned off into personal accounts. He added that several individuals, including bank officials, have already been arrested in connection with the case, and further action will follow once the probe is transferred to the CBI.
Responding to questions regarding the suspension of two IAS officers and one HCS officer, Vij reiterated that the government is taking the matter seriously and is committed to ensuring a thorough investigation.
On the issue of upcoming elections in five states, Vij expressed confidence in his party’s prospects, stating that after victories in states like Haryana, Delhi, Maharashtra, and Bihar, they are optimistic about winning in Assam, West Bengal, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, and Puducherry as well.
Addressing concerns over crop protection in mandis amid adverse weather, Vij said the government is making all necessary arrangements to safeguard farmers’ produce. He also criticized former Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda, remarking that while no significant steps were taken during his tenure, the current government is actively working to address challenges faced by farmers.
