Nineteen Members Take Oath in Rajya Sabha

New Delhi : The Chairman, Rajya Sabha, C. P. Radhakrishnan administered the oath/affirmation to nineteen newly elected and re-elected Members in the Rajya Sabha Chamber on Monday.

The Members who took oath include Ramdas Athawale, Sharad Pawar, Anbumani Ramadoss, M. Thambidurai, Tiruchi Siva, Babul Supriyo, along with other members from different states.

Oath in Multiple Languages

The ceremony reflected India’s linguistic diversity, with members taking oath in several languages—three in Marathi, two in Hindi, six in Tamil, one in English, four in Bengali, and three in Odia.

State-wise Representation

Among the newly inducted members, five are from Maharashtra, six from Tamil Nadu, five from West Bengal, and three from Odisha.

Dignitaries Present

The ceremony was attended by Kiren Rijiju, Minister of Parliamentary Affairs and Minority Affairs, Jual Oram, Minister of Tribal Affairs, along with P. C. Mody and other senior officials of the Rajya Sabha Secretariat.
