New Delhi : The Tri-Service seminar Ran Samwad is scheduled to be held on April 9–10, 2026 at the Air Force Training Command. The upcoming edition will mark the beginning of a sustained and structured dialogue on evolving paradigms of warfare, centred on the theme “Multi Domain Operations: An Imperative for Addressing Conventional and Irregular Threats.”

Over the two-day event, senior military leaders, experts, and practitioners will deliberate on developing a comprehensive roadmap to prepare India’s armed forces for multi-domain conflicts spanning land, air, sea, cyber, space, and cognitive domains.

Focus on Future Warfare and Strategy

The seminar will examine key aspects such as the evolution of multi-domain operations, global trends influencing modern battlefields, and the need for a Whole-of-Nation approach that integrates national resources. Discussions will also cover doctrinal transformation, training requirements, and the re-imagining of operational art to ensure effective command and control in complex and dynamic environments.

A significant focus will be placed on civil-military fusion, highlighting the importance of coordinated efforts between defence forces and civilian institutions in addressing emerging security challenges.

Enhancing Operational Preparedness

The deliberations are expected to serve as a guiding framework for the Indian Armed Forces in strengthening operational preparedness and developing strategies to tackle both conventional and irregular threats in an increasingly interconnected battlespace.

Addressing Technological Shifts in Warfare

With rapid technological advancements reshaping the nature of conflict, the seminar aims to address their impact on operational planning, tactics, and strategy. The initiative seeks to provide a platform for critical discussions on adapting to these changes.

The Ran Samwad series was conceptualised by General Anil Chauhan as a first-of-its-kind Tri-Service platform for structured dialogue on warfare and warfighting.

The inaugural edition, held at Army War College, focused on “The Impact of Technology on Warfare” and laid the foundation for continued strategic engagement among military professionals and experts.
