New Delhi : The National Council for Vocational Education and Training (NCVET), under the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE), will organise a one-day Capacity Building and Awareness Workshop for Awarding Bodies (ABs) on April 7, 2026, at Kaushal Bhawan in New Delhi.
The workshop aims to strengthen the skilling ecosystem by enhancing implementation practices, increasing awareness of regulatory frameworks, and ensuring alignment with national priorities in vocational education and training.
Designed to address operational and implementation challenges faced by Awarding Bodies, the programme will support them in effectively discharging their responsibilities. It will focus on strengthening alignment with the National Skills Qualifications Framework (NSQF), deepening understanding of NCVET’s regulatory guidelines, and promoting the adoption of digital platforms such as the National Qualifications Register (NQR), Academic Bank of Credits (ABC), SIDH, DigiLocker, and KaushalVerse.
The event will be graced by Shri Jayant Chaudhary, Minister of State (Independent Charge), MSDE, and Minister of State for Education, along with Smt. Debashree Mukherjee, Secretary, MSDE and Chairperson, NCVET. Prof. (Dr.) Ashok Kumar Gaba, Executive Member, NCVET, along with senior officials from MSDE, the Ministry of Education, NCVET, representatives of Awarding Bodies, and other stakeholders from the skilling and education ecosystem will also participate.
The workshop will begin with an inaugural session featuring the unveiling of NCVET’s Employability Skills Modules and the release of its bi-annual newsletter by the Minister. Technical sessions will focus on strengthening NSQF alignment and implementation, including presentations on NCVET’s regulatory framework, followed by discussions on best practices and challenges faced by Awarding Bodies.
A dedicated session on digital integration will highlight platforms such as KaushalVerse, SIDH, and the Academic Bank of Credits, underlining the role of technology in improving efficiency and transparency in the skilling ecosystem.
The programme will also feature a panel discussion on the convergence of skilling initiatives, with emphasis on the role of Awarding Bodies in strengthening vocational education and training across government schemes and mainstream education. Additional sessions will address training, assessment, and monitoring mechanisms, including NCVET’s oversight framework.
Experts and representatives from leading institutions such as UGC, CBSE, and DGT will contribute through presentations and interactive discussions.
The workshop is expected to enhance clarity among Awarding Bodies on regulatory expectations, promote consistency in qualification development, delivery, assessment, and certification, and encourage the exchange of best practices. It will also help identify operational challenges and strengthen the adoption of digital tools for improved coordination, transparency, and efficiency.
The initiative underscores NCVET’s continued commitment to building a robust, industry-aligned, and future-ready vocational education and training ecosystem in India.
