New Delhi : Union Minister of State, Jitendra Singh, on Wednesday informed that recent deferments in launch schedules of the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) under the Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle (PSLV) programme were solely due to technical reasons.
In a written reply in the Lok Sabha, the Minister said that following the anomaly observed in the PSLV-C62 mission, a National Level Expert Committee has been constituted to investigate the issue and recommend corrective measures. He added that PSLV launches will resume after the implementation of these corrective actions.
Dr. Singh also noted that the Small Satellite Launch Vehicle (SSLV) has successfully completed its developmental flights and has now been handed over to NewSpace India Limited (NSIL) and industry partners for production and future launches.
Providing an update on major space missions, the Minister said that the Gaganyaan programme, the NISAR earth observation mission, and upcoming climate and weather satellites are being executed by dedicated ISRO project teams.
He further stated that NewSpace India Limited, a Central Public Sector Enterprise under the Department of Space, is responsible for handling commercial space missions with active support from ISRO and the Indian industry.
The Minister reiterated that the government remains committed to ensuring mission reliability and advancing India’s capabilities in the space sector.
