-Industry, Academia and Experts Unite at Motion in Control 2026 Conference

Gurugram (Manesar ) : The fifth edition of Motion in Control 2026 – Vehicle Dynamics and ADAS Conference India, a two-day seminar featuring expert presentations and panel discussions, was successfully organised by SAE India on 24–25 February 2026 at International Centre for Automotive Technology (ICAT), Manesar, Haryana.

The conference commenced with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp by distinguished dignitaries from the automotive industry, marking the formal inauguration of the event. Addressing the inaugural session, Saurabh Dalela, Chairman – SAENIS and Director at International Centre for Automotive Technology (ICAT), Manesar, emphasised the importance of evolving road safety policies in line with rapid technological advancements in the automotive sector. He highlighted the need for relevant policy changes that address emerging technologies while ensuring enhanced safety for Indian consumers.

Sharing his perspective during the inaugural session, Tarun Agarwal, Vice Chairman – Membership and New Initiatives, SAENIS and Senior Executive Officer (Engineering) at Maruti Suzuki India Limited, spoke about bridging the gap to make relevant ADAS technologies accessible to the masses.

R.C. Subramanyam, Managing Director of Tenneco Automotive India Pvt. Ltd., elaborated on how India’s strong manufacturing base and the growing automotive demand are driving the expansion of the suspension system market in the country.

Further enriching the discussions, Renji Issac, Senior Vice President and Head of R&D at CEAT Limited, spoke on the theme “The Unsung Sensor – Tyres.” Dr. Subramaniam, Senior Vice President – Product Development at Ashok Leyland, delivered insights on “SDV and ADAS – Demystified.”

Adding further industry perspective, Ashim Sharma, Senior Partner and Business Unit Head at Nomura Research Institute, discussed the increasing relevance of active safety systems, outlining current trends and future directions. Amardeep Singh, Vice-Chair – Technical, SAENIS and Senior Vice President at Maruti Suzuki India Limited, shared his special remarks on the challenges and opportunities in the amalgamation of ADAS and vehicle dynamics.

The inaugural session was also attended by U. D. Bhangale, Executive Director of SAE India; Keshav Kumar Tripathi, AGM – Vehicle Test Track & Tyre Test Lab, ICAT; Pawan Thakur, Senior Manager and Media Head, ICAT; along with several prominent representatives from the automotive industry.

The conference was supported by leading organisations including Maruti Suzuki India Limited, Automotive Test Systems (ATS), Global Automotive Research Centre (GARC), along with ICAT Manesar.

The conference witnessed participation from senior management and key decision-makers representing vehicle OEMs, Tier-1 and Tier-2 suppliers, as well as a large number of engineers and specialists in vehicle dynamics, chassis systems, ADAS and control technologies. Representatives from testing, homologation and certification agencies were also present at the event.

Professionals working in simulation and validation shared their insights through technical presentations, highlighting emerging technologies and industry trends. The event also brought together researchers, scientists and technologists from various automotive R&D centres, enabling meaningful interaction with participants.

In addition, faculty members, researchers and postgraduate students from leading automotive and mobility engineering universities attended the conference, further strengthening the academia-industry connect.

Technical Sessions and Knowledge Exchange :

The two-day conference featured a wide range of activities, including keynote discussions, technology presentations, networking opportunities, exposition, test-track live demonstrations and expert panel discussions. These sessions provided a platform for in-depth discussions on the evolving landscape of vehicle dynamics and advanced driver assistance systems.

During the inaugural session, several important topics were deliberated upon, including road safety policies, bridging the gap to bring relevant ADAS technologies to the masses, the growing demand for suspension systems in India’s expanding automotive market, the role of tyre sensors, software-defined vehicles (SDV) and ADAS, and the integration of active safety systems with vehicle dynamics. Experts also discussed current trends, future directions, and challenges in the amalgamation of ADAS and vehicle dynamics.

The conference featured five plenary sessions focusing on adapting ADAS technologies to Indian driving conditions and user requirements.

Valedictory Session Focused on Customer Expectations and Road Safety :

The valedictory session saw participation from prominent automobile industry representatives and centred around the theme “Customer Expectations – Combination of Vehicle Dynamics and ADAS.”

The discussion was initiated by C. V. Raman, former President of SAE India and Executive Committee Member at Maruti Suzuki India Limited. Key insights were shared by Sandeep Raina, Vice Chairman – Seminars and Conferences (SAENIS) and EO (Product Planning), Maruti Suzuki India Limited; Ramanathan, Vice Chairman – Seminars and Conferences (SAENIS) and Managing Director, ATS; Hari Singh, Head of Operations, JK Tyre Motorsports; and Dr. Madhusudan Joshi, Secretary SAENIS and Head – Technology & Business, ICAT.

The session highlighted critical aspects such as traffic policies, Indian road conditions and consumer driving behaviour, all of which influence road safety in the country. The discussion was moderated by Nilesh Wadhwa , representing Motoring Trends.

Conference Concludes with Vision for Future Mobility :

The conference concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Hari Krishnan M, Convener of MIC – 5th Edition and Senior General Manager at Maruti Suzuki India Limited.

In his address, he highlighted that the automobile industry is continuously striving to enhance customer experience while improving driving safety. He noted that increasing awareness and expectations from customers are pushing the automotive sector to move from conventional systems towards the adoption of Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS). He also emphasised that the new era of ADAS requires seamless integration with components that control fundamental vehicle dynamic characteristics.

He further stated that building on the legacy of previous successful editions, Motion in Control provides an open platform for the industry to deliberate on the technical, regulatory and customer implications of transitioning from driver-in-the-loop systems to advanced driver-assistance and autonomous vehicle technologies, which are set to redefine vehicle design, validation and certification.

Thanking all expert speakers, industry representatives and sponsors, he encouraged participants to follow road safety norms and announced that the next conference will be organised at the Global Automotive Research Centre (GARC), Chennai, on 2–3 March 2026.

The conference was complemented by a technology exhibition that showcased advanced innovations, products and services from leading players in the automotive industry. Prominent companies such as AB Dynamics, Tenneco Automotive India Pvt. Ltd., MRF Limited, Vector Informatik India Private Limited and JK Tyre & Industries Limited were among the key exhibitors at the event.

The exhibition attracted a large number of visitors, providing them with an opportunity to interact directly with exhibitors and industry experts.
