PM Modi Unveils 77-Foot Lord Ram Statue at 550-Year Celebration of Partagali Math

New Delhi :  Prime Minister Narendra Modi today attended the 550th-year celebrations of the Shree Samsthan Gokarn Partagali Jeevottam Math in Goa. He said the sacred occasion filled him with peace and that being in the presence of saints was a deeply spiritual experience. He also visited the Ram Mandir and Veer Vitthal Mandir earlier in the day.

The Prime Minister praised the Math for completing 550 years of guiding people with its values of service, tradition, and social welfare. He said the Math has remained strong through centuries of change and continues to inspire society. He congratulated the Mathadhipati Shrimad Vidyadhish Tirth Swamiji and everyone associated with the celebration.

PM Modi highlighted several new developments at the Math, including the unveiling of a 77-foot bronze statue of Lord Ram and the inauguration of a Ramayana Theme Park. A museum and a modern 3D theatre are also being set up to preserve traditions and connect youth with their heritage. He said the Ram Naam Jap Yajna and the nationwide Ram Rath Yatra—held for 550 days—have created a powerful wave of devotion across India.

The Prime Minister noted that the Math has always combined spirituality with service. For centuries, it has supported communities through education, hostels, elderly care, and relief during difficult times. He said the Math protected not just religion but also humanity and culture.

PM Modi spoke about India’s ongoing cultural revival, highlighting projects such as the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya, Kashi Vishwanath Dham, Mahakal Corridor, and various tourism circuits connected to Ramayana and Krishna traditions.

He praised Goa’s unique spiritual identity and said institutions like Partagali Math have strengthened the region’s culture. As MP from Varanasi, he expressed pride that the Math has spiritual links to the holy city through centers established centuries ago.

The Prime Minister also placed nine resolutions before the devotees and the Math, urging them to spread these messages across society:

  1. Conserve water and protect rivers

  2. Plant trees – support “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam”

  3. Keep all surroundings clean

  4. Promote Swadeshi and “Vocal for Local”

  5. Explore India – “Desh Darshan”

  6. Practice natural farming

  7. Adopt a healthy lifestyle and include millets

  8. Take up yoga and sports

  9. Help the poor in any way possible

He said these resolutions can become powerful collective commitments for a developed India.

PM Modi also appreciated Goa’s modern progress in education, healthcare, tourism, pharma, and infrastructure. He said Goa is a perfect example of blending spiritual heritage with modern development.

Concluding his address, he said that India is moving through a transformational era driven by youth power, cultural confidence, and national resolve. He expressed confidence that the sacred land of Goa and the Partagali Math will continue to guide future generations.

Governor Pusapati Ashok Gajapathi Raju, Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant, and Union Minister Shripad Naik were also present.
